Cold Water Extraction - Basic Extraction

http://youtu.be/MPtv0ACUaHA

This is the most common extraction performed today.  This is primarily because it is the easiest, but also because it is the simplest method for those without a chemistry or lab technology background.  Later I will post a method that is still simple, but that requires some extra care and steps in order to create a much purer and safer final solution.

Some things to realize before reading:
- The amount of Paracetamol in your final solution is completely dependent on 2 things: How much water you've used, the temperature you've kept that water at.
- This means that you CANNOT use more than 100ml of water and after cooling you CANNOT allow the water temperature to increase by much.  So don't add too much water, and don't let the water sit on the counter for more than 10 or 15 minutes.
- Watch the video above before reading.  The video will give you a visual to follow along with and will give you a greater understanding of not only how to do each step, but WHY to do each step.

Cold Water Extraction Method
1. Crush desired number of pills.  Remember to pay attention not only to the active ingredient that you want to end up with in your solution, but also any secondary ingredients.  If you consume over 300mg of Caffeine, you will be hyper as hell, if you consume 500mg of Caffeine and have a heart condition, you might die.  Do your research, and remember, do not attempt these at home!

2. Add 80-100ml of warm water to the pills.  Ensure that the container that you're using to house the powder and water will be easy to pour out of later.  Swish the bowl around until the solution looks like slightly watered-down milk.

3. Place in Fridge (2-3 hours) or freezer (10-15 minutes) to cool.  If you place it in the freezer because you're in a hurry, make sure that you pay close attention to the solution.  If it freezes, you will ruin it.  The fridge is safest.  I usually leave mine in the fridge over night.

4. While solution is cooling, prepare your filter.  A coffee filter works best.  Dampen the filter thoroughly with cold water and place it over a glass with an elastic around the lip to ensure that the filter won't slip and fall into the glass.  Place in fridge to get cool.  Remember, we want to keep everything cold as much as possible.

5. You should notice that the Paracetamol has settled to the bottom of the bowl.  As the water cools, more paracetamol comes out of solution and crystallizes on the bottom.  The solution needs to reach about 5-6C.  This is the key to the entire CWE.  If the solution doesn't get cold enough, too much Paracetamol will be left in the final solution. Carefully pour your entire solution into your filter.  Add as much of the sludge at the bottom that you can.

6. Place the solution and glass into the fridge to filter.  This part should take 2-3 hours to filter properly.  You can ring it out early if you get impatient, but doing this will increase the amount of Paracetamol in your final solution.

7. When filtering is complete your solution should not appear milky in any way.  It will however appear completely cloudy and will have a terribly bitter taste.  If you have been thorough and careful, this solution will contain approximately 90-95% of the Opiate from your starting compound, 90-95% of the Caffeine, and 1g of Paracetamol.  If you've used the freezer or squeezed out the filter early to speed up the process, add approximately 250mg of Paracetamol for each rush you've done.

8. Clean up!

  2. This is incorrect. Frozen codeine can be defrosted naturally and not lose potency. This is not the best CWE walk though
