What is a Cold Water Extraction?

Cold water extractions are a type of chemical filtration that is easy to perform with basic equipment and amateur-level knowledge of chemistry.  Most of the necessary pieces of equipment can be found at home or purchased from the local grocery store at a minimum of cost.

The purpose of a cold water extraction is to use the properties of desired compounds and undesired compounds and their known solubility in different temperatures of water in order to extract from a large amount of over the counter pills your desired compound without leaving much of the dangerous or undesired compound in solution.

For example, T1's can be purchased over the counter in Canada.  They contain 8mg of Codeine, 15mg of Caffeine, and 300mg of Paracetamol.  The codeine is the desired compound; the one that we would like to end up with a large amount of.  The Paracetamol is the compound that we do not want a large amount of; anything over 2g can begin to cause liver damage.

In order to obtain say 160mg of Codeine, one would normally need to ingest 20 pills, which would be 6g of paracetamol; enough to kill you.  Cold water extractions allow us to take advantage of the fact that Paracetamol is not very soluble in Cold Water, so we can end up with 160mg of Codeine and only have 1g of Paracetamol left in our solution.

The chemistry behind these extractions is sound, and I will be including quite a lot of information in this blog explaining the chemistry based background information required to understand how and why this works.  The TL;DR of the matter is however that by following the very easy and very basic steps of a cold water extraction, in theory you can get a lot of Opiate (among other things) without the harmful Paracetamol.

  1. Many people confuse hot water extracting cleaning with steam cleaning. The former method uses a very high-temperature water to force out the dirt and debris to so that they can be easily vacuumed with a dry vacuum machine. After that, a water based cleaning solution is applied to the carpet and vacuumed with a wet vacuum machine. In this way, the dirt that remains at the base of the carpet can be easily removed. The dirt is responsible of causing the bad odor on the carpet. The smelly odor is harmful for the health.

  2. That's pretty convenient that most of the basic equipment used for cold water extraction is easy to access. It doesn't seem too hard to do. However, sometimes I think that things like this are better left to the experts. http://www.servprosouthelkhartcounty.com/water-removal-extraction
